100 gratitude journal prompts
Short, specific questions for good days and hard ones. Pick one and write three answers.
A blank page is the hardest part of any journal. A good prompt fixes that: it points your attention somewhere specific, so you're not trying to feel grateful in general. Below are 100 gratitude journal prompts, grouped so you can pick what fits the day.
How to use these prompts
Pick one prompt and write three answers. That's it. You don't need to answer all of them, and you don't need to go in order. If a prompt doesn't spark anything in ten seconds, move on to the next one.
This pairs well with the Three Good Things exercise: on days when "what went well today?" draws a blank, a narrower question usually works.

If you keep drawing a blank
- Go smaller. "My family" is hard to write about every day. "The way my son hums while he draws" is easy.
- Use your senses. Something you tasted, heard, smelled, touched or saw today.
- Think of contrast. What would today have been like without one specific thing?
- Write the why. One line about why something happened turns a list into reflection.
